Thomas Hawkes established the T. G. Hawkes & Company of Corning, New York in 1880. The company became famous for two patterns awarded the Grand Prize at the Paris Exposition (1889).  T. G. Hawkes & Company had become known for creating the finest cut glass since then.

I am trying to find information concerning this Hawkes crystal and silver Viking Long Boat. Has anyone ever seen a piece like this?  Does anyone know anything about when it might have been made?  So far I have not been able to find anyone who has seen a similar piece. Any help that you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Tiffany first produced the rich gold iridescent and blues during the Art Nouveau era.  During the 1920′s, the styles were changing.  The most recognizable difference was in color, moving toward pastel yellow, pink, blue, green and purple.

This bowl has a wheel caved butterfly.

Most importantly this color combination of yellowish orange and very dark reddish brown (almost black) make a beautiful contrast. I love this vase because this typical background color is something like a sky and showing space. This reminds me of a “Knou painting”  in the Azuchi Momoyama priod.  It is a beautiful piece.

This photograph did not capture 100 % of this uniqueness and beauty, but this pitcher has an character and poetic sense.

Before I create my art I do serious calculation (design, color, and composition, etc) and if I do not like them I can change, but I have no idea how Glass artists create their work.  I did use a similar idea when I drew the Zao Gongen and chrysanthemum pictures below.  I drew the entire picture at one time without any mistakes and no changes or corrections). I have created similar pieces of art several times, but it requires extreme concentration and control.

This is one of my favorite Galle vases. It has a subtle beauty, but it also has very strong composition, form, and a simple color palette.

One of the skilled artisans working at Galle’s studio produced this vase about one hundred ten years ago.  This wisteria motif was used often, but each piece has a unique design. This vase is simply beautiful.

Raijin (雷神 raijin) is a god of thunder and lightning in Japanese mythology.

This Japanese mythological figure is standing at at Sanjūsangendō 三十三間堂 in Kyoto Japan.

Circa 1100, Inca lapis lazuli necklace, rare tomb piece.

Pre-classic period: circa 300 B.C. – 200 A.D.

I acquired these Inca necklace, ancient jade beads, and jaguar mask pendant by trading with my pictures recently.  Jade beads are one necklace but they are about 23 inch long and Jaguar mask was not part of them. So I made two necklaces.

I am not sure about Jaguar Mask that it could be very old or later copy, but not contemporary piece.

I traded one of my pieces of art for this beautiful Daum Miniature Vase.

Very nice miniature vase with rare swan decoration. This extra small miniature is beautifully decorated with swan, fishing man, and lake using acid-etching and enameling.
